Job summary

BDP (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Freight Forwarding and Customs Declarant to handle daily import/export operations, including accurate declarations, RMCD compliance and timely cargo movements.

The role requires knowledge of Malaysian procedures and HS classifications, with hands-on declarant experience preferred. Responsibilities include preparing declarations (K forms), coordinating with customs, ports and carriers, and maintaining records to meet KPI/SLA targets.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in logistics or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of freight forwarding and customs declaration experience.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian customs procedures, HS codes, duties and exemptions.
• Familiar with ALDEC or similar declaration systems.
• Understanding of sea and air freight import/export operations.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in MS Office and logistics software.

Job description

Responsible for handling daily freight forwarding and customs clearance activities, ensuring accurate customs declarations, regulatory compliance and timely cargo movements. The role requires good knowledge of Malaysian Customs procedures, import/export regulations and forwarding operations.

Key Responsibilities

Handle daily import and export forwarding operations, including customs clearance, transportation and shipment coordination.

Prepare and submit customs declarations, including K1, K2, K3, K8, K9 and other applicable customs forms.

Ensure compliance with Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) regulations and import/export requirements.

Verify HS codes, duties, taxes, exemptions, permits and supporting shipping documents.

Liaise with Customs authorities, port operators, shipping lines, transporters and relevant agencies.

Monitor shipment arrivals, customs clearance status and delivery schedules to avoid delays and additional costs.

Ensure accurate documentation, including invoices, packing lists, BL, AWB, COO and relevant permits.

Handle customs queries, declaration amendments, inspections and operational issues.

Coordinate with customers and internal teams to ensure smooth shipment execution.

Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure compliance with operational KPI/SLA requirements.

Support process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and service quality.

About you

Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade or related discipline.

2-3 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding and customs declaration, preferably with hands-on declarant experience.

Good knowledge of Malaysian Customs procedures, HS classification, duties, taxes and exemptions.

Familiar with ALDEC or other Malaysian Customs declaration systems.

Understanding of sea and air freight import/export operations.

Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented, responsible and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics management systems.
