Job summary

Hexachamp Sdn Bhd is seeking a creative Lighting Designer to develop lighting concepts and proposals based on client needs. You will prepare layouts, specifications, and technical drawings, selecting fixtures to meet budgets and design intent.

You will perform lighting calculations using DiaLux/Relux, coordinate with architects and interior designers, and participate in site visits and project reviews. Fresh graduates are welcome as training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in lighting design is an asset.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and lighting software.
• Ability to read architectural drawings.

Responsibilities

Hexachamp Sdn Bhd is looking for a creative and passionate Lighting Designer to join our team. The role involves developing creative and practical lighting concepts and proposals based on client and project requirements, and turning ideas and project requirements into practical lighting solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop creative and practical lighting concepts and proposals based on client and project requirements.
• Prepare lighting layouts, plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Select suitable lighting fixtures and products according to project requirements, design intent, and budget.
• Produce lighting calculations and simulations using relevant lighting design software such as DiaLux and DiaLux Evo.
• Coordinate lighting designs with architects, interior designers, consultants, contractors, and other project teams.
• Attend site visits, meetings, and project inspections when required.
• Assist in preparing product presentations, quotations, and technical submissions.
• Provide technical support and recommendations to clients throughout the project.
• Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are completed within the required timeline.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Interior Design, or any engineering related field.
• Experience in lighting design or the lighting industry is an added advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and at least one lighting simulation software such as DIALux / DIALux evo / Relux.
• Good understanding of lighting principles, lighting applications, LED technology, and lighting products.
• Able to read and understand simple architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, detail-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with the team.
• Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
