Private Advertiser in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia seeks a seasoned IL development and COBOL specialist to support the life insurance applications on IBM AS/400. You will analyze business queries, provide solutions, and handle incident management and root-cause analysis within a structured IL environment.

The role requires 5 years of hands-on IL development, strong Smart400/COBOL skills, and solid experience with the Life Asia COBOL stack.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related disciplines.
Minimum 5 years of hands‑on IL development and support in life insurance domain using Integral Life/Life Asia COBOL system.
Strong experience in Smart400 and COBOL development and maintenance.
Experience in Life insurance business domain.
Experience working with IBM (AS/400) environments.
Proven experience in supporting IL application including batch support.
Strong stakeholder management skills with demonstrated experience interacting directly with business users.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Responsabilités

Analyse/Investigate business queries and provide solutions to business users.
Monitor and support production systems, including incident management and problem resolution.
Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot application.
Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, and operational standards.
Achieve personal KPIs and contribute to Technology overall initiatives and goals.
Personal development is one of factors to be considered as well.
Effective communication with team lead, other team members and business users to provide necessary support.
