Southern University College invites a dedicated Librarian to join our Johor Bahru Library team. This full-time role oversees daily operations, curates print and digital collections, and delivers reference and information literacy services to students and staff.

You will supervise staff, train assistants, and collaborate with academic departments to support teaching and research. We seek a qualified librarian with registration and 1–2 years' experience, strong organisational and communication

Qualifikationen

• A recognised qualification in Library and Information Science or Library Studies, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Professional librarian registration or membership with a relevant library association where applicable.
• Minimum 1–2 years of professional experience in a library or information management environment.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.

Aufgaben

• Managing day-to-day library operations and ensuring efficient service delivery to all users.
• Developing, organising and maintaining library collections including print and digital resources.
• Providing reference services and research support to students, faculty and staff.
• Cataloguing and classifying library materials using appropriate classification systems.
• Conducting library orientation sessions and user education programmes for new students and staff.
• Collaborating with academic departments to support curriculum and research needs.
• Managing library technology systems, databases and digital platforms.
• Overseeing library staff and student assistants, providing training and supervision as required.
• Developing and implementing information literacy programmes and workshops.
• Maintaining library policies, procedures and standards to ensure compliance with institutional guidelines.
• Assessing library services and recommending improvements based on user feedback and industry best practices.
