Job summary

Messrs Win & Men Dy invites a Legal Associate to join the civil, commercial and corporate litigation practice. The role covers advisory work, contract disputes, debt recovery and related matters.

Legal Associate (in civil, commercial & corporate litigation)

You will join our civil and commercial litigation team, handling a range of contentious and advisory matters, including contractual disputes, employment matters, debt recovery, and corporate and commercial advisory work. Your responsibilities will include managing files, conducting legal research, preparing written legal opinions, developing case strategies and legal arguments, drafting legal documents, advising clients and keeping them informed of developments, and representing clients in court.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handle civil, commercial and corporate litigation matters.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, pre-trial documents, witness statements, written submissions and agreements.
• Conduct legal research and provide clear and practical legal advice to clients when required.
• Attend court proceedings, including case management, hearings and trials.
• Manage files proactively, meet deadlines and keep clients informed of material developments.
• Work closely with the partners and team, and undertake other responsibilities reasonably assigned by the firm.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent recognised qualification and be admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
• Hold a valid Practising Certificate for 2027.
• Have at least 1 year of post-qualification experience in general civil & commercial litigation and debt recovery.
• Be able to manage litigation matters independently and confidently.
• Demonstrate strong legal drafting, research and analytical skills.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, colleagues and other parties.
• Be responsible, organised and committed to meeting deadlines.
• Work collaboratively and contribute positively to the team.
• Exercise sound judgment, practical common sense and initiative in handling work and resolving problems.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
