Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Carry out all assigned teaching hours in English language and related subjects.
Deliver curriculum-based lessons using varied teaching methods.
Ensure learning activities follow the Master Planner.
Support student learning through mentoring, counselling, and tutorials.
Maintain student academic records and provide feedback on performance.
Identify students needing extra help and guide them to improve.
Conduct continuous and final assessments each semester.
Prepare and submit summative exam questions to the principal.
Maintain confidentiality in exam preparation and procedures.
Organise extracurricular activities to enhance learning.
Participate in KPJ quality assurance activities and promote educational excellence.

Job description

To implement and adhere to the University’s vision, mission, policies, and decisions in an effective and efficient manner.
To plan, organise and coordinate learning experiences to ensure students achieve their learning objectives in a safe and conducive environment.
To participate in and provide support for training and relevant activities with KPJ Healthcare Group of hospitals and its companies.
To attend and participate in university meetings and monthly education committee meetings.
To be a member of the organising committee for the University Graduation Ceremony.
To assist in the recruitment of students for any programmes conducted by the University.
To participate in and be a member of the interviewing committee for student selection.
To be assigned responsibility for overseeing a group of students.

ACADEMIC

To carry out all the teaching hours that have been assigned.
To teach subject and relevant subjects in the programmes that have been assigned in accordance with the curriculum and teaching guidelines, using a variety of teaching methodologies.
To ensure that all learning activities are carried out according to the Master Planner.
To provide support in student learning through mentor/mentee system, counselling, and tutorials.
To maintain students’ documents pertaining to students’ academic performance.
To provide feedback to students on academic performance with regards to the subject.
To identify, support, and guide students who experience difficulties in achieving subject competencies.
To carry out continuous and final assessments in every semester according to curriculum content.
To prepare and submit questions to the principal for every summative examination.
To maintain confidentiality in examination preparation and procedure.
To act as an examination invigilator, implementing and maintaining the examination policies throughout.
To organise and coordinate extracurricular activities that can enhance the learning of subjects in the university, e.g., National Day events.
To participate actively in university and all KPJ Healthcare Group quality assurance activities.
To promote and maintain a culture towards providing excellence in quality through education and training. Responsible for the implementation of the total quality of university education.

SAFETY AND HEALTH RESPONSIBILITIES

To report unsafe practices, conditions, near-misses, incidents, and accidents to the General Manager and the Secretary of the Safety and Health Committee.
To comply with Company policies, Health and Safety policies.
To take reasonable care for the safety and health of herself and other persons who may be affected by her actions or omissions at work.
To cooperate with Management of KPJU in the discharge of any duty or requirement imposed on the Management by the Occupational Safety and Health Act or any Regulations made therein.
To wear or use, at all times, any personal protective equipment or clothing provided by the Management of KPJU for the purpose of preventing risks to his/her safety and health.
To comply with instructions or measures under the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations made therein.
To establish and maintain the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHS).
To establish and maintain any related quality and risk & opportunities in the Quality Management System of the department and school.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Education

Master’s degree in English Language, TESL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a related field.

Knowledge and Experiences

Strong knowledge of English language teaching methodologies, curriculum design, and assessment.
Experience in academic writing instruction.
Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational technologies.
Excellent command of spoken and written English.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to design and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons.
Competency in classroom management.

Technical Skills Required

Proficiency in using Learning Management System (LMS).
Familiarity with digital teaching tools, including video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams).
