Job summary

Lumileds Malaysia is seeking a Mid Level Lead/R&D Product Characterization Engineer to generate advanced product characterization reports and lead cross-functional investigations for LED product performance. The role focuses on data analysis, problem solving, and ensuring product performance aligns with datasheet specifications.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc or equivalent in relevant fields of engineering or applied science with 3-6 years of related work experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with management, engineering and project teams and lead to root cause findings.
• Proactive with clear summaries of findings and deep-dive analysis.
• Hands-on knowledge of structured improvement techniques and tools such as Statistical Engineering, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, Minitab and JMP, DOE, 7QC, SPST, FMEA and others.
• Passion for work and willingness to stretch to meet business goals.

Responsibilities

• Generates in-depth and advanced Product Characterization reports with thorough analysis to support project decisions.
• Proactively participate in problem solving of product performance issues.
• Ensure characterization reports cover product development, manufacturing concerns, performance, yield and utilization at milestone stages.
• Ensure product performance matches datasheet specifications and communicate performance summaries with proposals.
• Engage project teams early in development and follow up until mass production release.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams to secure information crucial to product performance analysis (traceability, material/process/tool variability).
