Job summary

Lumileds International, a global leader in LED technology, is seeking a Senior/Lead Manufacturing Engineer (ALD Deposition) to develop and optimize thin-film deposition processes for high performance products in a fast-paced environment in Penang, Malaysia.

The role requires hands-on expertise in deposition, data-driven decision making, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet yield, cost, and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in thin-film deposition, process optimization and troubleshooting.
• Experience with film characterization techniques and statistical process control (SPC).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and sustain thin-film deposition processes for high performance products.
• Analyze process data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Characterize thin films using metrology and materials analysis techniques (e.g., ellipsometry, XPS).
• Document and maintain detailed process recipes, control plans and SOPs.
• Lead root cause investigations for yield, reliability or process stability issues.
• Stay current with advances in deposition technologies and propose upgrades or cost savings.
