StarHub seeks a Lead Quality Engineer to own end-to-end QA for the Consumer Business Group's CRM and Order Management platforms. You will drive quality across SDLC, define test strategies, and lead automation initiatives.
You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, Business and Operations to ensure production releases are validated, tested, and ready for customers.
Lead the Quality Engineering function for StarHub's Consumer Business Group (CBG) CRM and Order Management platforms, ensuring the quality, reliability, and release readiness of the Compax CRM/OM platform through modern Quality Engineering practices, automation, risk-based testing, and close collaboration with Engineering, Product, Business, and Operations. The role owns end-to-end quality across CRM, Product Catalogue, Order Management, Revenue Management, and system integrations, ensuring customer-facing journeys are validated before every production release.
Key responsibilities
Own the end-to-end Quality Engineering strategy for the CBG CRM/OM platform, ensuring quality is embedded throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Define and execute comprehensive test strategies covering functional, system, integration, API, regression, user journey, production verification (PVT), and UAT testing
Lead quality assurance across CRM/OM capabilities including Customer Management, Product Catalogue, Product Configuration, Product Eligibility, Customer Lifecycle, Order Management, Service Activation and Revenue Assurance
Ensure integration reliability by validating data integrity, event sequencing, retry mechanisms, exception handling, recovery processes, and end-to-end business transaction consistency
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of test automation frameworks covering UI, API, integration, and regression testing, integrating automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines
Perform risk-based testing, release readiness assessments, and establish quality gates, including entry and exit criteria, to ensure production-ready releases
Review business requirements, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and solution designs to ensure completeness, testability, and end-to-end traceability from requirements through test execution and defect management
Govern release quality by reviewing test evidence, coordinating production verification testing, and providing Go/No-Go recommendations for production deployments
Establish and maintain QA governance, including testing standards, automation standards, test data management, environment readiness, quality dashboards, metrics, and reporting to drive continuous improvement
Manage and mentor internal and vendor QA teams by reviewing test deliverables, monitoring execution quality, tracking KPIs, conducting quality audits, and driving accountability against defined quality objectives
About you
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
6–10 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a Lead QA or Test Lead role for enterprise applications
Strong experience in testing CRM, Order Management, BSS/OSS, or other large-scale enterprise platforms, preferably within the telecommunications industry
Hands-on experience in Functional, System, Integration, API, Regression, End-to-End, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Strong experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent, with integration into CI/CD pipelines
Experience testing distributed systems, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, Kafka messaging, and asynchronous workflow orchestration
Good understanding of Java, Spring Boot, SQL (PostgreSQL and/or Oracle), and backend application architectures to effectively validate enterprise solutions
Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS cloud platforms, and DevOps practices in modern software delivery environments
Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies, quality engineering best practices, risk-based testing, defect management, and release governance
Proven experience leading vendor QA teams, managing testing deliverables, establishing quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
