Job summary

Systems Limited - APAC is seeking an experienced QA Manager in Kuala Lumpur to lead QA strategy and governance for large telecom projects. You will manage manual and automation testing, drive automation initiatives, and oversee QA metrics and release readiness across BSS/OSS and digital transformations.

You will mentor teams, align QA with Agile/Hybrid SDLC, and partner with development, BA, and PM to ensure quality delivery. Strong leadership and telecom domain experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field; Master's preferred.
• 10+ years in QA/software testing with 4+ years in QA lead/manager roles.
• Experience in Telecommunications, BSS/OSS, or digital transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of manual and automated testing and testing tools.
• Familiarity with QA governance, release standards, and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the overall QA strategy, test approach, processes, and quality standards.
• Lead and mentor QA teams, including manual and automation engineers.
• Oversee functional, integration, regression, system, performance, API, and UAT testing.
• Drive test automation initiatives to improve coverage and delivery efficiency.
• Manage the defect lifecycle, including triage, prioritization, and resolution tracking.
• Establish and monitor QA KPIs and quality metrics and leakage.
• Lead QA planning for SIT, UAT, migration, cutover, and go-live activities.
• Act as the primary QA contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure QA practices align with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
• Collaborate with development, business analysis, and project management teams.
• Manage QA tools, environments, test data, and QA estimation for new engagements.

We are looking for an experienced QA Manager to lead and govern the QA and testing function for large-scale telecommunications projects in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role will be responsible for QA strategy, team leadership, test governance, automation, quality metrics, and ensuring successful delivery of BSS/OSS and digital transformation solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Define and implement the overall QA strategy, test approach, processes, and quality standards.
• Lead and mentor QA teams, including manual and automation engineers.
• Oversee functional, integration, regression, system, performance, API, and UAT testing.
• Drive test automation initiatives to improve coverage and delivery efficiency.
• Manage the defect lifecycle, including triage, prioritization, root-cause analysis, and resolution tracking.
• Establish and monitor QA KPIs and quality metrics, including test coverage, pass rates, defect density, and leakage.
• Lead QA planning for SIT, UAT, migration, cutover, and go-live activities.
• Act as the primary QA contact for clients and stakeholders, providing quality status, risks, and release-readiness updates.
• Ensure QA practices align with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies and client SDLC standards.
• Collaborate with development, business analysis, and project management teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Manage QA tools, environments, test data, and support QA estimation for new engagements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Telecommunications, or a related field; Master's is an advantage.
• 10+ years of overall QA/software testing experience, with at least 4+ years in a QA Lead or QA Manager role.
• Strong experience in Telecommunications, BSS/OSS, or digital transformation projects, including CRM, billing, order management, charging, provisioning, or digital channels.
• Strong knowledge of manual and automation testing and tools such as Selenium, Playwright, JMeter, Postman, Jira, and TestRail.
• Experience in defining test strategies, QA governance, quality metrics, and release standards for large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of API, integration, performance, and end-to-end testing.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and team management skills.
• ISTQB, CSM/PSM, and/or PMP certifications are preferred.
• Prior experience working with telecom operators in the APAC region is highly desirable.
