Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Lead Operations Engineer (Structure) for offshore development projects in Malaysia. You will provide structural engineering leadership across engineering, fabrication, installation and startup to ensure safe, efficient delivery.

You will validate deliverables, ensure compliance with API/ISO/DNV/Eurocodes, and drive operability and maintainability. A strong interface with operators, EPCs, fabrication yards, and offshore teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Offshore Engineering.
• 8–13 years in offshore oil & gas projects.
• Experience with fixed platforms, jackets, topsides, FPSOs or subsea structures.
• Experience across FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, commissioning and operations.
• Familiar with API, ISO, DNV, Eurocodes and related standards.
• Operations readiness or asset integrity experience is desirable.
• Ability to coordinate with operators, EPCs, fabrication yards and offshore teams.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Lead Operations Engineer (Structure) is responsible for providing structural engineering leadership and operational assurance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring structural design, construction, installation, commissioning, and operational readiness activities are executed safely and efficiently. The role serves as the focal point between the project team and operations, ensuring long-term asset integrity, maintainability, reliability, and compliance with applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering support for offshore development projects during engineering, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and startup phases.
• Review and validate structural engineering deliverables prepared by EPC contractors and consultants.
• Ensure structural designs comply with company specifications, international codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide operations-focused input into design reviews, HAZID, constructability, maintainability, and operability assessments.
• Support structural integrity management strategies and lifecycle asset management planning.
• Participate in design review workshops, technical assurance reviews, and project decision-making processes.
• Ensure lessons learned from existing facilities are incorporated into project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8-13 years of experience in offshore oil & gas projects.
• Strong experience with fixed platforms, jackets, topsides, offshore structures, FPSOs, or subsea developments.
• Proven experience working through FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, commissioning, and operations phases.
• Familiarity with structural design codes such as API, ISO, DNV, Eurocodes, and relevant industry standards.
• Experience in operations readiness, asset integrity, or brownfield integration activities is highly desirable.
• Ability to interface effectively with operators, EPC contractors, fabrication yards, and offshore installation teams.
