Job summary

Misc Group is seeking a Senior engineer to lead mooring and hydrodynamics design for floating offshore facilities in Malaysia. You will direct the development of design philosophy, basis of design, and SOW, and ensure all deliverables align with schedule and cost constraints.

The role requires a naval architecture/marine engineering degree, PE with practicing certificate preferred, and a minimum of 10 years in mooring/hydrodynamics design for offshore platforms, including FPSO/FSO or CALM buoy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine or related engineering.
• Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of engineering deliverables for Mooring and Hydrodynamics System to ensure safe, robust and cost-effective floating offshore facilities design.
• Lead mooring and hydrodynamics design philosophy, basis of design, and SOW for sub-contracting services.
• Ensure execution of all engineering deliverables per project planning and schedule.

Job description

To manage resources, provide technical guidance and direction, ensuring completion and quality of deliverables within schedule and cost.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Lead the development of engineering deliverables for Mooring and Hydrodynamics System in Technology-OBU, to ensure safe, fit-for-purpose, robust and cost-effective floating offshore facilities design and operation.
• Lead the development of Mooring and Hydrodynamics design and operation philosophy, basis of design, functional specification and SOW for MSQ / RFQ of mooring engineering sub-contracting services.
• Lead the execution of all engineering deliverables as per project planning and schedule.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Relevant recognized qualifications – Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture, Marine or other related engineering) discipline.
• Preference: Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate / Registered with relevant professional body.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in engineering design of mooring and hydrodynamics systems for floating offshore facilities, including:
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in design and engineering of floating offshore facilities (e.g. FPSO / FSO, FLNG, CALM buoy, etc.).
• Experience and competent in the use of relevant analysis software, (e.g. Orcaflex, Hydrostar, Ariane7, AQWA, etc.).
