Job summary

Curtin University Malaysia in Miri, Sarawak, invites applications for Assistant Manager, Infrastructure & Projects to lead campus infrastructure and capital projects. You will coordinate design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring safety, scope, budget and schedule compliance.

The role requires strong reporting, multi-project management, and collaboration with stakeholders to implement campus improvements and expansion initiatives in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in civil/infrastructure engineering, construction or project management.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project or equivalent project planning and scheduling software.
• Experience in tendering, technical evaluation, contractor selection, contract administration and management of consultants, contractors and suppliers.
• Experience liaising with government and statutory authorities on building, infrastructure and project submissions and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage assigned campus infrastructure and capital projects from initial concept through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover and defects rectification.
• Provide regular project status reports including progress, expenditure, risks, issues, variations and required decisions to the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
• Support planning and prioritising the campus infrastructure project portfolio in line with University strategic plans and budgets.
• Act as the project lead for infrastructure and capital projects.
• Prepare, develop and coordinate engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, schedules, bills of quantities, cost estimates and technical requirements using AutoCAD and other tools.
• Coordinate with external consultants and technical disciplines to ensure designs are complete, coordinated and fit for purpose.
