Job summary

Karex Berhad is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to lead automation improvements and oversee the troubleshooting, repair and upgrading of plant machinery. The role involves managing PLC, HMI (Mitsubishi), SCADA and robotics systems, while guiding maintenance staff to ensure equipment reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic / Mechanical / Mechatronic / Automation / Control Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Continuously improve automation by evaluating new technologies, equipment or machinery.
Oversee troubleshooting, repair and upgrading of machines to maintain optimal performance.
Handle PLC, HMI (Mitsubishi), SCADA and robotics systems.
Provide leadership, guidance and technical training to maintenance staff.
Oversee performance and reliability of plant M&E facilities, equipment and machinery.
Offer technical advice and support to other departments.
Lead and ensure qualification (validation) of manufacturing-related machines.
Maintain registration of spare parts drawings, plant layouts and essential documentation.
Monitor and control departmental expenses for cost efficiency.
Oversee maintenance store inventory and spare parts control.
Ensure calibration activities are completed accurately and on time.
Participate in internal audits for compliance with standards.
