Job summary

Swan Metal Products in Kampong Tampoi, Johor, Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Production Lead to ensure laser cutting operations run smoothly and meet specified specifications, targets and deadlines. You will lead the production team, coordinate all laser cutting tasks, schedule operators, and ensure safety and quality standards are maintained on the shop floor.

The role requires a degree in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or higher and at least 3 years of hands-on laser cutting

• Proficient in reading technical drawings and specs.

Swan Metal Products – Kampong Tampoi, Johor

Ensure to keep production lines running smoothly and manage the shift as well.

Ensure all products to the specified specifications, target and deadlines are met to achieve the order.

Lead the production team towards the goal set by the management.

Coordinate all laser cutting operations and personnel.

Schedule tasks to machine operators.

Ensure machines are operated safely and maintained properly.

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints and production plans.

Monitor output for quality, accuracy and efficiency.

Troubleshoot machine and production issues as they arise.

Maintain production reports and monitor KPIs.

Train and mentor new and existing team members.

Enforce safety and compliance standards at all times.

Collaborate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, QCC, procurement) to ensure smooth operations.

Job requirements:

Degree in Manufacturing / Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering or higher qualifications.

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience operating laser cutting machines (e.g., CO2, fibre lasers).

Strong understanding of CNC operations and CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production specifications.

Knowledge of materials and laser machine parameters.

Good in communication skills in English preferably, Mandarin proficiency is an advantage to facilitate effective communication with Mandarin-speaking clients.
