Job summary

Fengshi Metal Technology in Malaysia seeks an experienced Laser Cutting Operator to cut sheet metal per drawings, load materials, and set machine parameters. You will monitor production, inspect parts with vernier calipers, and maintain records.

The role requires reading blueprints, basic fabrication knowledge, and willingness to work shifts. Candidates should have SPM/Technical Certificate and 1–3 years of laser cutting experience, with attention to detail and good teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM / Technical Certificate or equivalent.
• 1–3 years experience operating laser cutting machines is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Familiar with measuring tools such as vernier caliper.
• Able to work in a manufacturing / production environment.
• Good discipline, teamwork, and attention to detail.
• Able to work shift or overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Load and unload raw materials (metal sheets) onto the laser cutting machine.
• Set up machine parameters such as cutting speed, power, and focus according to material type and thickness.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure smooth production and prevent defects.
• Ensure cutting accuracy and product quality meet customer specifications.
• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (vernier caliper, ruler, etc.).
• Identify cutting defects and report abnormalities to the supervisor.
• Maintain production records and job documentation.
• Perform basic machine setup before production.
• Conduct routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of the laser machine.
• Report machine malfunctions or maintenance issues.
• Follow company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Maintain a clean and organized working area according to 6S standards.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
• Support production improvement activities to enhance productivity and reduce material wastage.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions.
