Hipower Metal & Stainless Steel Works is seeking a skilled Laser Cut Machine Operator for its Bayan Lepas, Penang facility. This full-time role involves operating and maintaining laser cutting machines to produce precision metal components that meet strict quality standards.

You will set up, calibrate, monitor, and maintain equipment, inspect finished parts, and ensure safety protocols are followed. The candidate should read drawings, calculate cutting dimensions, and collaborate with the team

About the role

Hipower Metal & Stainless Steel Works is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Cut Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This is a full-time position based in Bayan Lepas, Penang. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting machines to produce precision metal components that meet our strict quality standards. This position is critical to our production operations, ensuring that we deliver high-quality products to our clients on time and within specifications.

What you'll be doing

Operating laser cutting machines to cut metal sheets and components according to technical drawings and specifications

Setting up and calibrating laser cutting equipment before each production run

Monitoring machine operations to ensure consistent quality and accuracy throughout the cutting process

Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of laser cutting equipment to maintain optimal performance

Inspecting finished products for defects and ensuring they meet quality standards before handover

Loading and unloading materials from the cutting machines safely and efficiently

Recording production data and maintaining accurate logs of completed jobs

Identifying and reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors

Adhering to all health and safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment

Collaborating with team members to meet production schedules and targets

What we're looking for

Proven experience operating laser cutting machines in a manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of machine specifications, operating parameters and safety procedures

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately

Knowledge of metal properties and cutting techniques for stainless steel and other metals

Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality output

Proficiency in basic mathematics to calculate cutting dimensions and measurements

Manual dexterity and the ability to work with precision tools and equipment

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

A valid driving licence and willingness to work full-time hours

Relevant machine operator certification or qualifications (preferred)

Experience with CAD software or machine programming (advantageous)
