Job summary

Gadek Nursery in Malaysia is seeking a Landscape Manager to oversee daily landscape operations and project execution. You will supervise gardeners, site Supervisors and subcontractors, plan planting, irrigation and maintenance while ensuring high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

The role requires 3–5 years of landscaping experience, strong leadership and excellent communication, with the ability to coordinate across multiple sites and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Agriculture, Landscape Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in landscaping, horticulture, landscape maintenance, or related industries.
• Experience managing landscape teams, site operations or landscaping projects is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance, planting, pruning, fertilising, irrigation and plant care.
• Good leadership, organisational and project coordination skills.

Job description

Gadek Nursery is suppliers of various types of trees and also provide delivery services throughout Peninsular Malaysia. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Landscape Manager who is organised, hands-on, responsible, and passionate about landscape management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily landscape operations, maintenance activities, and project execution
• Supervise landscape workers, gardeners, site supervisors, and subcontractors
• Plan and coordinate landscaping works including planting, pruning, trimming, grass cutting, fertilising, irrigation, and general landscape maintenance
• Monitor site conditions and ensure landscapes are properly maintained according to required standards
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance
• Plan manpower, equipment, materials, tools, and resources required for daily operations
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and relevant stakeholders regarding landscape works and site requirements
• Prepare work schedules and ensure landscaping projects are completed within the agreed timeline
• Monitor project progress, workmanship, productivity, and overall site performance
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and availability of landscaping tools, machinery, and equipment
• Monitor inventory and coordinate the purchase of plants, fertilisers, soil, landscaping materials, and other required supplies
• Ensure workers follow company SOPs, work procedures, safety requirements, and site regulations
• Identify landscape issues such as plant diseases, pest problems, drainage issues, irrigation problems, or poor plant conditions and recommend appropriate solutions
• Assist in preparing quotations, costing, work estimates, material requirements, and project proposals when required
• Monitor project costs and ensure resources are utilised efficiently
• Handle customer feedback, complaints, and site-related issues professionally
• Prepare operational reports, site reports, manpower reports, and project updates for management
• Train, guide, and develop landscape team members to improve productivity and workmanship
• Conduct performance monitoring and provide feedback to landscape workers and supervisors
• Ensure all landscape equipment, machinery, and work areas are maintained in a safe and proper condition
• Perform other operational and ad-hoc duties assigned by the management

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Agriculture, Landscape Management, or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in landscaping, horticulture, landscape maintenance, or related industries
• Experience managing landscape teams, site operations, or landscaping projects will be an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance, planting, pruning, fertilising, irrigation, and plant care
• Good understanding of landscaping equipment, tools, materials, and maintenance practices
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Good organisational and project coordination skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to communicate effectively with clients, workers, suppliers, and contractors
• Able to manage multiple sites or projects simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Proactive, responsible, hands-on, and able to work independently
• Physically and mentally prepared to work in outdoor environments and different weather conditions
• Willing to travel to project sites when required
• Possess a valid driving licence and able to travel between sites when required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace and basic reporting tools
• Candidates with experience in commercial, residential, resort, property development, or large-scale landscaping projects are encouraged to apply
