Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks an experienced Geomatics professional to lead site surveys and earthwork measurements for civil projects. You will manage high-precision surveying instruments, establish baseline ground levels, verify volumes, and produce certified as-built documentation.

You will lead gridline setup, platform levels, slope alignments, and boundary demarcations while processing field data with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field is required.
• Minimum 5+ years’ hands-on surveying experience in construction/earthworks under Malaysia.
• Proficiency in CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD Civil 3D) and advanced handling of GPS/Total Station/level instruments.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction to post-construction topographic surveys to establish baseline ground levels and verify volumes.
• Lead site layout: gridline establishment, platform levels, slope alignments, boundary demarcations.
• Process field data with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software to generate earthwork quantity reports and cross-sections.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain high-precision surveying instruments (Total Stations, RTK GPS, TLS, UAVs).
• Supervise, mentor, and schedule junior surveyors on site.
• Coordinate with project managers, civil engineers, contractors, sub-contractors, and authorities to ensure compliance.

Job description

Lead site surveys and earthwork measurements for construction projects, managing high-precision surveying instruments and coordinating with project teams to establish accurate baseline ground levels, verify volumes, and produce certified as-built documentation.

Key responsibilities

Conduct pre-construction, interim, and post-construction topographic and site surveys to establish baseline ground levels and verify cut-and-fill volumes

Lead site layout, gridline establishment, platform levels, slope alignments, and boundary demarcations

Process field data using software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or specialized surveying applications to generate earthwork quantity reports and cross-sections

Operate, calibrate, and maintain high-precision surveying instruments, including Total Stations, Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS, Terrestrial Laser Scanners (TLS), and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV/drones)

Supervise, mentor, and schedule junior surveyors and survey assistants on site

Liaise with project managers, civil engineers, main contractors, sub-contractors, and local authorities

Prepare and certify accurate as-built survey plans and progress documentation for project claims and compliance

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Geomatics, Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field

Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in construction or earthwork infrastructure surveying within Malaysia

Proficiency in CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD Civil 3D)

Advanced handling of GPS, Total Station, and level instruments

Familiarity with UAV/drone mapping and post-processing is a strong advantage
