Job summary

PERSOL Workforce Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Laboratory Technician – Quality Control (QC) to join a busy lab in Bukit Minyak, Penang. This 1-year contract starts Oct 2026 and offers exposure to analytical testing and calibration activities.

You will perform daily product analysis, operate GC and other analyzers, maintain equipment, and record results for audits. A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related field with at least 3 years’ lab experience is required,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, science or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in lab or QC.
• Experience with laboratory testing and analyzer operation.
• Experience with GC or analytical equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge of QA and QC criteria.
• ISO 9001:2015 knowledge is an advantage.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily product analysis and lab testing per specs and quality standards.
• Operate laboratory analyzers and conduct analytical testing accurately.
• Maintain calibration and routine maintenance of equipment.
• Record test results, calibrations and QC documentation accurately.
• Ensure traceability and safekeeping of records for audits.
• Attend on-site meetings, inspections and quality-related activities as needed.

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN – QUALITY CONTROL (QC)

Location: Bukit Minyak, Penang
Contract: 1 Year (Oct 2026 – Oct 2027)
Working Hours:
Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Saturday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Start Date: October 2026
Permanent Conversion: Subject to performance

Job Responsibilities

Perform daily product analysis and laboratory testing according to required specifications and quality standards.

Operate laboratory analyzers and conduct analytical testing accurately and efficiently.

Assist with routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and analyzers to ensure optimal operating condition.

Perform scheduled calibration of gas chromatographs and other analytical equipment.

Maintain accurate records of product analysis, test results, calibration activities and quality control documentation.

Ensure proper traceability and safekeeping of laboratory and calibration records for audit and compliance purposes.

Support quality control activities and ensure compliance with established quality procedures and standards.

Assist in on‑site meetings, inspections, investigations and other quality‑related activities when required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Science or related field.

Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a laboratory, quality control or chemical testing environment.

Experience in laboratory testing, product analysis or analyzer operation.

Experience with Gas Chromatography (GC) or other analytical equipment is an added advantage.

Knowledge of equipment calibration and laboratory maintenance.

Good understanding of Quality Assurance and quality acceptance criteria.

Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System is an advantage.

Good analytical, communication and documentation skills.

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Proficient in MS Office / Google Workspace.

Willing to travel outstation across Malaysia occasionally.

Possess own transport is preferable.

Suitable Candidates

Candidates with backgrounds in Laboratory, Quality Control, Chemical Testing, Chemistry, Chemical Analysis or Analytical Testing, with hands‑on experience operating laboratory equipment, analyzers or conducting product testing.
