Job summary

Sodexo in Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Kitchen Helper to assist chefs and cooks with food preparation, washing, peeling, chopping, and dicing ingredients to established recipes and standards. You will maintain a clean, organized kitchen, stock ingredients, manage inventory, rotate items to minimize waste, and operate basic kitchen equipment safely under supervision.

Qualifications

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff in ingredient prep and basic cooking tasks.
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene across all areas.
• Stock, rotate, and manage kitchen inventory to reduce waste.
• Operate and sanitize kitchen equipment following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, chopping, peeling, and portioning.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station, ensuring all surfaces, utensils, and equipment are sanitized.
• Stock and replenish inventory for the kitchen, including receiving deliveries and proper storage.
• Support with basic cooking tasks and ensure waste is minimized through proper rotation.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables in designated areas and follow safety protocols.
