Job summary

Pastaney Company is seeking a responsible Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations and assist front-of-house service. The role involves hands-on cooking support, food prep, plating, and ensuring a smooth dining experience for customers.

This position emphasizes flexibility to work in both kitchen and service duties, with on-the-job training and opportunities to develop hospitality skills in a friendly team environment.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training will be provided.
• Positive attitude, responsible and eager to learn.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable interacting with customers.
• Able to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Good personal hygiene and discipline.
• Willing to perform both kitchen and service duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with daily food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
• Prepare ingredients, wash, cut and portion food according to kitchen requirements.
• Assist with food plating and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Wash dishes, kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Ensure proper food storage and follow food safety procedures.
• Assist with stock arrangement and kitchen inventory when required.
• Serve food and beverages to customers at their tables.
• Communicate politely and professionally with customers.
• Assist customers with basic menu enquiries.
• Ensure food is delivered to the correct tables and served properly.
• Clear tables and maintain dining area cleanliness.
• Assist the service team during busy operating hours.
• Ensure customers receive friendly and attentive service.
• Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house team members.
• Follow the restaurant’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
