Job summary

Verona Bake (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily cooking operations in our Kuala Lumpur kitchen. You will master basic cooking methods, prepare fresh ingredients, ensure proper storage, and help maintain high food safety standards.

The role requires 1 year of related experience, ability to follow head chef directions, and flexible scheduling including overtime, weekends, and holidays. Mandarin is a plus; Malay/English communication is essential.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess at least SPM or equivalent.
At least 1Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Mandarin Speaker is an advantage.
Able to communicate in Malay and English, or Mandarin.
In depth knowledge of food preparation.
Able to follow directions from the Head chef.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including OT, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Master all basic cooking methods like cutting of ingredients.
Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to menu/sop needed for the station daily.
Responsible for proper storage of food preparation and storage area.
Improving your food preparation methods based on feedback.
To perform overall cleaning duty of the kitchen area, all crockery and equipment.
To always maintain food safety standard.
Be familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and observe safety precautions when handling them.
To undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Head Chef & Chef De Partie.
Ability to work in a team.
