Job summary

Shin Kyu is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team on a full-time basis in Johor Bahru, Johor. This hands-on role supports kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and efficiency.

You will work with experienced chefs to maintain consistency and quality across all dishes. Ideal candidates have a willingness to learn, basic food prep knowledge, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with food preparation: washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, including washing dishes and equipment.
• Organise and store ingredients and supplies with proper inventory practices.
• Transport and handle food items safely to prevent spoilage and contamination.
• Support plating and presentation under chef supervision.
• Assist with kitchen setup and breakdown at shift start/end.
• Follow all food safety regulations, health codes, and kitchen protocols.
• Respond promptly to requests from chefs and supervisors.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report issues promptly.

Shin Kyu is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team on a full-time basis in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a hands-on position that plays a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations and ensuring the smooth delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. As a Kitchen Helper, you will work alongside our experienced chefs and kitchen staff to maintain the highest standards of food preparation, hygiene, and operational efficiency.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting chefs with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping and slicing ingredients according to kitchen standards
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Organising and storing ingredients and supplies in designated areas, ensuring proper inventory management
• Transporting and handling food items safely to prevent spoilage and contamination
• Supporting the plating and presentation of dishes under chef supervision
• Assisting with kitchen setup and breakdown at the beginning and end of shifts
• Following all food safety regulations, health codes, and kitchen protocols
• Responding promptly to requests from chefs and kitchen supervisors
• Maintaining kitchen equipment in good working order and reporting any issues immediately

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential for enthusiastic candidates
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
