Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a kitchen assistant to support chefs with mise-en-place, prep work, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen according to recipes.

You will assist in food preparation according to the food ordering system, monitor portion control, and ensure food presentation follows SOP during service.

You will arrange and maintain inventory of all kitchen items, minimize wastage, collect items from storeroom, and report issues to supervisors in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

To assist chef in ensuring that all mise-en-place are prepared accordingly to recipes given and subsequently maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen.

To assist chef to prepare the food following to the food ordering system.

To ensure food presentation is follow SOP and ensure orders are made in order time in.

To arrange and keep good inventory of all food items in kitchen.

To ensure minimum kitchen wastage.

Assist in the preparation and finishing work of all dishes during the service period as instructed by their supervisor.

Assist in collecting all foodstuffs from the general storeroom, check that the requisitions are properly filled by the store man. Report to their supervisor if any problem arises. Keeps the food transport trolley clean, ready and in good working order.
