Job summary

Quest International University in Ipoh, Perak is seeking an experienced kitchen chef to manage daily bakery and hot kitchen preparations for the campus cafe. You will cook a range of items across breakfast, lunch, and specials, ensuring recipes are followed and quality standards upheld.

Responsibilities

Daily preparation and presentation of both bakery items and hot kitchen dishes.

Cook and prepare a range of hot dishes for the cafe menu, including breakfast, lunch and special items as required.

Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and food preparation checklist.

Monitor inventory levels for both bakery and hot kitchen, and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed.

To maintain a high standard of all food preparations. service and hygiene in their respective kitchens according to the standards required by the management.

Work with the Cafe Manager to plan and introduce new hot kitchen dishes that align with customer demand and seasonal ingredients.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Certificate or Diploma in Food & Beverage/Culinary.

Team player, ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work efficiently as an individual if necessary.

At least 3 years of experience in a bakery or hot kitchen, with proficiency in both areas preferred or proven experiences as a chef or in a similar role.

Creativity and ability to develop recipes, costing and presentations to keep the cafe menu exciting and fresh.

Positive attitude and good communication skills with team and customer.

Strong knowledge of baking techniques, bread, pastry preparation, and cooking skills for hot kitchen items.
