Job summary

Celestica in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Production Superintendent to lead daily operations in a fast-paced EMS environment. You will steer safety, productivity, and quality while coordinating resources to meet schedules and budgets.

You will recruit and mentor a diverse team, manage shifts, and address disciplinary issues, driving continuous improvement through Kaizen initiatives and cost-saving practices.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of EMS industry experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the production processes and tools.
• Knowledge of materials and processes.
• Ability to coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet production quality and quantity metrics.
• Ability to lead, train and motivate a diverse group of employees.
• Knowledge of Kaizen tools and applying them to eliminate waste.
• Experience with SAP, Excel or PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Uphold the company’s safety management standards within the area of responsibility.
• Support and encourage continuous improvement toward high productivity and quality.
• Receives a daily production schedule from planning and executes accordingly.
• Coordinates inputs and resources to achieve on-time production within budget guidelines.
• Identifies and resolves bottlenecks in the production process.
• Recruit, select, assign, schedule, and coach employees.
• Manages shift personnel to ensure production targets are met including holidays and overtime.
• First point of escalation for disciplinary issues within the production area.
• Efficient control of daily activity and processes in production.
• Ensures that customer deadlines and quality requirements are met.
• Participate in the quarterly Kaizen program to eliminate waste and realize cost savings.
