Job summary

Celestica in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Production Superintendent to lead daily operations in a fast-paced EMS environment. You will steer safety, productivity, and quality while coordinating resources to meet schedules and budgets.

You will recruit and mentor a diverse team, manage shifts, and address disciplinary issues, driving continuous improvement through Kaizen initiatives and cost-saving practices.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of EMS industry experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the production processes and tools.
• Knowledge of materials and processes.
• Ability to coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet production quality and quantity metrics.
• Ability to lead, train and motivate a diverse group of employees.
• Knowledge of Kaizen tools and applying them to eliminate waste.
• Experience with SAP, Excel or PowerPoint.

Upholding the company’s safety management standards within the area of responsibility.

Support and encourage the "continuous improvement "mind send towards achieving high level productivity and quality.

Receives a daily production schedule from planning and executes accordingly.

Coordinates these inputs and a variety of resources (e.g., materials, personnel, equipment, etc.) to achieve on-time production of quality products within budget guidelines.

Identifies and resolves bottlenecks in the production process.

Recruit, select, assign, schedule, and coach employees.

Manages shift personnel to ensure production targets are met including balancing headcount, managing holidays, managing overtime.

First point of escalation for disciplinary issues within the production area.

Efficient control of daily activity and processes in production.

Ensures that customer deadlines and quality requirements are met.

Actively involve or participate in the quarterly Kaizen program to eliminate waste across the operation area to realize a high level of cost saving indicator.

Requirements

5-7 years of related experience in EMS industry with a Bachelors Degree in a related field.

In-depth knowledge of the production process and the tools and equipment used in the process.

Knowledge of materials and processes.

Ability to coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet production quality and quantity metrics within a highly dynamic environment.

Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve high production levels within tight deadlines.

Knowledge in the Kaizen tools and encourage production use those tools to eliminate waste at production process.

Ability to use some or all of the following PC applications: SAP, Word, Excel or PowerPoints.

Preferably Senior supervisors specializing in Manufacturing/Production Operations or equivalent.
