Job summary

Strato Solutions Sdn Bhd is seeking a Junior Solar System Engineer to assist in the design, assessment and technical development of residential solar PV systems in Malaysia. You will work with a team to translate customer needs into practical solar solutions.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field, with foundational knowledge of solar PV concepts, AutoCAD, PVsyst or SketchUp, and a willingness to conduct site visits and support project

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and sizing residential solar PV systems.

• Support site assessments and roof measurements.
• Prepare technical proposals, BOQ and MTO.
• Assist with installation coordination, testing and documentation.

Job description

We are looking for a Junior Solar System Engineer to support the design, assessment and technical development of residential solar PV systems. The ideal candidate should have a background in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, with knowledge or exposure to solar PV system design and installation.

Key responsibilities

Assist in designing and sizing residential solar PV systems based on customer electricity consumption and site requirements.

Prepare solar PV system layouts, technical drawings and electrical schematics.

Perform basic solar energy yield calculations and system performance simulations.

Assist in selecting appropriate solar panels, inverters, batteries and related system components.

Support site assessments, roof measurements and technical feasibility studies.

Prepare technical proposals, quotations, BOQ and material take-off (MTO).

Assist with solar installation coordination, testing, commissioning and documentation.

Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical safety standards and solar industry requirements.

Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers and installation contractors.

About you

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Basic knowledge of Solar PV systems, grid-connected and off-grid systems.

Familiarity with AutoCAD, PVsyst, SketchUp or other solar design software is an advantage.

Understanding of electrical system sizing, load calculations and basic electrical principles.

Willingness to conduct site visits and support project installation activities.

Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
