Job summary

Wil-Key International in Malaysia is seeking a Junior Piping & Mechanical Drafter to support the engineering and project team in the design and preparation of technical drawings for biogas projects. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to translate concepts into accurate construction drawings.

The role requires 1–3 years of drafting experience, good AutoCAD 2D skills, and willingness to learn biogas systems. On-site work with a growing renewable energy team.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Drafting, CAD Drafting or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant drafting experience preferred.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
• Able to read and understand mechanical and piping drawings.
• Will ing to learn biogas systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise Piping ISO drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare piping layout, GA and mechanical drawings for biogas and POME treatment systems.
• Develop piping routes and equipment layouts based on engineering requirements.
• Produce detailed fabrication and construction drawings.
• Update drawings according to engineering comments and site changes.
• Assist with BOM and MTO from drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers, project team and site personnel to resolve drawing issues.

Junior Piping & Mechanical Drafter – Biogas Projects

We are looking for a Junior Piping & Mechanical Drafter to support our engineering and project team in the design and preparation of technical drawings for biogas projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and project managers to convert engineering concepts, sketches and design requirements into accurate and practical construction drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise Piping Isometric (ISO) drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare piping layout, GA and mechanical drawings for biogas and POME treatment systems.
• Prepare drawings for:
  • Pumps and blowers
  • Valves and fittings
  • Digesters and lagoons
  • Gas piping and flare systems
  • Equipment and skid layouts
  • Tanks, platforms and piping supports
• Develop piping routes and equipment layouts based on engineering requirements.
• Produce detailed fabrication and construction drawings.
• Update drawings according to engineering comments, site changes and red-line markups.
• Prepare and maintain drawing registers, revisions and document control.
• Assist in preparing Bill of Materials (BOM) and Material Take-Off (MTO) from drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers, project team, site personnel and contractors to resolve drawing issues.
• Assist with preparation of as-built drawings based on site information.
• Ensure drawings are clear, accurate and comply with project specifications and relevant drafting standards.
• Support the engineering team in other drafting and technical documentation activities when required.

Requirements

• Diploma / Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Drafting, CAD Drafting or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant drafting experience preferred.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
• Able to read and understand mechanical and piping drawings.
• Basic understanding of piping components such as:
  • Pipes and fittings
• Able to understand piping dimensions, elevations and equipment connections.
• Good attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
• Able to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Willing to learn biogas systems.

Preferred / Added Advantage

Candidates with experience in any of the following will have an advantage:

• Palm oil mill / POME
• AutoCAD Plant 3D / other 3D software
