Worley is seeking a Senior Marine Pipelines Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to join their engineering team. You will oversee engineering work, support the lead engineer, and ensure quality and adequacy in projects.

The ideal candidate will possess over 8 years of experience in submarine pipeline design and engineering. The role offers flexible and hybrid working options, enabling a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in oil & gas industry, specifically in engineering design of submarine pipelines.
  • Experience in wall thickness design, stability assessment, and pipeline installation.
  • Knowledge of project phases – conceptual, feasibility, detailed design.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare design premises and Basis of Design (BoD) for projects.
  • Conduct engineering activities and prepare deliverables in compliance with standards.
  • Guide, train and assist subordinate engineers.

Skills

8+ years of experience in oil & gas industry

About the Job

Senior Marine Pipelines Engineer – Kuala Lumpur

We’re looking for a Senior Marine Pipelines Engineer to join our Kuala Lumpur team. As a Senior Marine Pipelines Engineer you will assist in the production of all engineering work within the discipline engineering team for assigned projects, support the lead engineer in ensuring technical adequacy and quality of engineering work produced by subordinate engineers, and coordinate with other disciplines for completion of all assigned work within schedule and budget. The Role Responsibilities
  • Prepare design premises and/or Basis of Design (BoD) for projects.
  • Conduct engineering activities and prepare deliverables in compliance with Worley Management System and engineering standards, customer specifications, references, and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure technical integrity through checking and design review activities, and compliance with the discipline’s deliverables.
  • Perform engineering modeling, analyses and simulations.
  • Prepare reports, studies, drawings, sketches, diagrams, lists, 3D models, MTOs, schedules, registers, specifications, etc., in compliance with the BoD.
  • Prepare responses or clarifications to Customer or other discipline queries/comments on technical matters.
  • Use appropriate engineering tools and software.
  • Collate, gather and verify engineering input data; analyze and explain results and findings.
  • Identify and report project variances and scope changes.
  • Seek understanding of hazards and risks associated with the asset lifecycle and discuss mitigation with the Lead Engineer.
  • Assist in the list of deliverables for the discipline engineering team for the Project.
  • Assist implementation of Quality Assurance system requirements to ensure engineering delivery quality and consistency.
  • Assist implementation of HSE system requirements and safe working practices.
  • Communicate directions from Lead Engineer to subordinate discipline engineers.
  • Guide, train and assist subordinate discipline engineers to address complex technical issues.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in oil & gas industry, specifically in engineering design of submarine pipelines and associated structures.
  • Experience in wall thickness design, route selection, stability assessment, free span analysis, global bucking analysis, bottom‑roughness analysis, expansion analysis, crossing analysis, riser/spool flexibility analysis, trenching and burial design, shore approach design, pipeline installation and construction study.
  • Well‑versed with industrial practices and international codes and standards (DNV, ASME, API, ISO).
  • Proficient with engineering software and tools such as DNV StableLines, DNV FatFree, CAESAR, AutoPIPE, SAGE Profile, OFFPIPE, OrcaFlex.
  • Understanding of specification preparation, including construction specifications.
  • Knowledge of project phases – conceptual, feasibility or Pre‑FEED, FEED, Detailed Design.
  • Understanding of offshore field development, especially planning and construction phases.
  • Strong commitment to Quality Assurance and HSE system compliance.
  • Ability to meet agreed schedule deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work as part of a team.
  • Capability to guide, train and develop subordinate discipline engineers.
  • Competent in explaining and documenting design concepts and approaches in engineering reports and studies in English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or equivalent; higher academic achievements accepted.
  • Experience in umbilical and cable design is an advantage.
