Job summary

SIW Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer (fresh grads welcome) in Penang/KL. You will help model, draft, and design machine components, frames, piping layouts, and assemblies using CAD tools.

You’ll own drawings, BOMs and docs, while working with seniors to fix issues and learn the end-to-end manufacturing process. You should have a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics. Internship experience helps, but is not required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or related field.
• Internship helpful but not required for fresh grads.
• Ability to read and create 2D drawings and understand 3D CAD models.
• Awareness of manufacturing processes and how parts are made.
• Attention to detail and teamwork.
• Exposure to sheet metal, piping or mechanical assembly is a plus.
• Some GD&T knowledge or drawing standards is beneficial.
• Showcase a project or FYP related to robotics, automation or machines.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD).
• Design hardware components, sheet metal frames, piping layouts and assemblies.
• Own drawings, BOMs and technical docs to turn models into parts.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve design issues and improve machines.
• Interact with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure designs are producible.

Junior Mechanical Design Engineer (Fresh Grads Welcome) - Penang/KL

EcoSys designs and makes abatement systems: the machines that break down toxic and greenhouse gases coming out of chip and solar factories before they reach the air. We run on our own patented microwave plasma technology, hold 44 patents, and do everything from first concept to mass production in-house, right here in Penang.

Malaysian company, customers in 10 countries, and a lot of interesting engineering problems to solve.

What you'll actually be doing

• Modelling & drafting: build 3D models and 2D part and assembly drawings in CAD. SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, whatever you know, we'll help you level up.
• Designing real hardware: machine components, sheet metal frames, piping layouts and full mechanical assemblies.
• Making it buildable: own the drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical docs that turn a model into a part.
• Solving problems, not watching: work with senior engineers to fix design issues and improve existing machines.
• Walking the floor: talk to the manufacturing and assembly teams building your design, and learn fast.

You'll fit right in if you

• Have a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related field
• Just graduated? Great. Internship experience helps, but it's not a must.
• Arecomfortable with 3D CAD and can read (and make) 2D engineering drawings
• Understand the basics of mechanical design and how parts get manufactured
• Care about details, ask \"why\" a lot, and enjoy working in a team
• Sheet metal, piping or mechanical assembly experience
• Some GD&T or drawing standards knowledge
• An FYP, robotics competition or side project you're proud of. Show us!
