Job summary

GLOBAL WATER CONSULTANS SDN BHD in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to support the engineering team in planning, design, analysis, documentation, and implementation of civil projects. Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and technical assessment of civil engineering works (drainage, flood mitigation, river engineering, water resources, infrastructure).
• Carry out engineering calculations, data analysis, and preliminary design under guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist in hydrological and hydraulic studies, including rainfall, river flow, catchment, drainage, and flood data.
• Support preparation, setup, checking, and interpretation of engineering models and software outputs.
• Prepare and update engineering drawings, layouts, figures, maps, schedules, technical tables.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, design reports, tender documents, proposals, and presentations.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, surveys, and data collection, and prepare site records and visit reports.
• Review available project information, survey data, drawings, reports for completeness and consistency.
• Coordinate with internal project team members, consultants, contractors, suppliers, government agencies, and stakeholders.
• Attend project meetings and prepare meeting notes or follow-up actions.

Job description

The Junior Civil Engineer will support the engineering team in the planning, design, analysis, documentation, and implementation of civil engineering projects. The role involves assisting senior engineers with technical studies, engineering calculations, preparation of drawings and reports, site inspections, data collection, coordination with clients and other project stakeholders, and ensuring that project deliverables are prepared in accordance with applicable standards, specifications, and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

Assist in the planning, design, and technical assessment of civil engineering works, including drainage, flood mitigation, river engineering, water resources, infrastructure, earthworks, and related projects.

Carry out engineering calculations, data analysis, technical assessments, and preliminary design under the guidance of senior engineers.

Assist in hydrological and hydraulic studies, including preparation and review of rainfall, river flow, catchment, drainage, and flood-related data where required.

Support the preparation, setup, checking, and interpretation of engineering models and software outputs where applicable.

Prepare and update engineering drawings, layouts, figures, maps, schedules, technical tables, and other project documentation.

Assist in preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, design reports, tender documents, proposals, presentations, and submissions to clients or authorities.

Conduct site visits, inspections, surveys, and data collection activities, and prepare site records, photographs, observations, and visit reports.

Review available project information, survey data, drawings, reports, and other technical documents for completeness and consistency.

Coordinate with internal project team members, consultants, contractors, suppliers, government agencies, and other stakeholders on project-related matters.

Attend project meetings, technical discussions, and coordination meetings when required, and assist in preparing meeting notes or follow-up actions.
