Detailed Job Description:

As a Test Automation Engineer supporting Kamlax Global Technologies in Malaysia, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of automated test frameworks, end-to-end quality validation, and CI/CD testing integration. Your day-to-day responsibilities include authoring and maintaining automated test scripts using Katalon Studio and Playwright, executing rigorous API testing and mock service simulation using WireMock, developing custom test automations utilizing Java and JavaScript, troubleshooting software defects, performance regressions, and pipeline failures across development and production environments, collaborating closely with software development squads, product owners, and QA leads, and ensuring strict adherence to quality assurance standards. You will utilize your proactive troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical anomalies under strict enterprise delivery schedules. Furthermore, you will manage application requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, architect, develop, and maintain comprehensive automated test frameworks and test suites using Katalon Studio and Playwright.
• Execute rigorous API testing, service mocking, and integration validation utilizing WireMock and REST client libraries.
• Author clean, maintainable, and efficient test automation scripts and helper functions in Java and JavaScript.
• Integrate automated test suites seamlessly into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and diagnose software defects, UI rendering glitches, and backend API integration failures.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional software engineering squads, product managers, and QA testing teams.
• Conduct exploratory, regression, performance, and acceptance testing to ensure uncompromised software quality.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of test plans, automation architectures, defect logs, and traceability matrices.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive professional experience in software quality assurance and test automation engineering.
• Strong, demonstrable hands‑on professional expertise and deep practical proficiency with Katalon Studio and Playwright.
• Solid practical experience in API testing, mocking services with WireMock, and verifying RESTful web services.
• Comprehensive programming proficiency in Java and JavaScript for building scalable test automation frameworks.
• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities under fast-paced engineering environments.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with strong cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Mandatory visa sponsorship eligibility and physical availability for full-time on-site employment in Malaysia.
