Job summary

Hong Leong Bank seeks a seasoned IT professional to maintain, develop, implement and support Java applications and interfaces with downstream systems. You will participate in requirements analysis, design, incident handling, and coordinate development and production support activities.

You will work with vendors and business stakeholders to define system requirements, improve performance, and ensure security and compliance across enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Information Technology is required.
• More than 6 years of experience in IT Enterprise Applications related functions - development & support in financial environment.
• Experience in application server clustering, performance tuning and testing.
• Experience developing applications using components with Java (J2EE).
• Experience working and administering with WebSphere applications in Unix (AIX).
• Experience with databases like IBM DB2 or Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Application Lifecycle & Development
• Implementation, support, and maintenance of applications assigned
• Responsible for system analysis, system design, application development, report generation, amendment, and enhancement for assigned applications
• Decision on the Technical Approach to be used to address systems' enhancements
• Proposal on enhancement of applications for better performance
• Requirements Analysis & Stakeholder Management
• Liaise with users to define systems requirements
• Liaise with vendors to define technical requirements
• Provide options/alternatives to address Users' Business Requirements and recommendations on software solutions
• Ensure amended and enhanced systems meet user functional requirement specifications
• Production Support & Incident Management
• Provide expert advice for the best solution to production problems
• Analyze changes and their impact on existing systems
• Provide support during the implementation of software and systems; liaise with other departments within the division for smooth deployment of Application Software
• Governance, Compliance & Security Controls
• Ensure all documentation, processes, and methodologies used across system development phases align with the Bank's standards
• Ensure proper documentation of all development to facilitate future maintenance and enhancements
• Employ risk assessment methodology issued by the Information Security Department to ensure proper controls are built as required by the business
• Build appropriate controls into business application software to ensure stability, security, and reliability
• Infrastructure, Strategy & Resource Management
• Prioritization and assignment of tasks for development and implementation
• Evaluation and acquisition of tools, utilities, hardware (including upgrades), and software
• Technology platform assessment, inclusive of stress test benchmarking
• Managerial
• Assist the Manager in the managing of team members and coordinating team assignment and activities
• Recommendation on improvement of controls and procedures in system security and software changes
• Proposal on improvement of work/process flow
• Proposal and Recommendation on guidelines, procedure and process.
• Review software solution on Security, Compliance requirements
