Responsibilities

Looking for a bilingual/multilingual Japanese Translator / Interpreter to bridge communication between our Japanese expatriate management, local teams, and cross-functional departments.

Job Description

Act as the primary liaison and cultural bridge between Japanese expatriates, local employees, and management to promote effective communication, mutual understanding, and teamwork.

Conduct live interpretation/translation for meetings, training sessions, performance reviews, workplace communication and daily floor operations when Japanese expatriates are present.

Translate business emails, technical reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operational documents across Japanese, English, Malay, and Chinese.

Support operations activities by assisting with communication and translation.

Maintain strict professional ethics and data privacy during high-level management discussions and confidential business meetings.

Assist with executive administrative tasks, onboarding Japanese assignees, and ad-hoc department duties (e.g. preparing minutes of meeting).

Requirement

Strong command of Japanese (preferably JLPT N1 or N2).

Fluent in English, Malay, and Chinese.

Possess 2 years or more experience in Japanese translation.

Work experience in a Manufacturing or Production environment is an advantage.
