Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to respond to client requests, troubleshoot hardware and software, and maintain computer systems. The role involves travel to client sites or remote connections to resolve issues and provide user support.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in CS/IT with 2–4 years' experience, strong hardware knowledge, and excellent communication skills to assist users and document issues effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology.
• 2–4 years of work experience as a desktop support engineer or support technician.
• Advanced knowledge of computer hardware systems, chipsets, memory modules and peripherals.
• Knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems.
• Ability to solve complex hardware and software issues.
• Ability to travel and work after hours when necessary.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Responding to client support requests and identifying the nature of the problem.
• Traveling to the client location or connecting remotely to troubleshoot.
• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals.
• Installing and upgrading operating systems and software.
• Troubleshooting networking and connection issues.
• Advising on software or hardware upgrades.
• Providing basic training in computer operation and management.
• Completing job reports and ordering supplies.
