DSV Air & Sea (Freight) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an IT Specialist for regional IT services in Malaysia.
You will support and manage IT operations, network resources, and end-user support to ensure a reliable digital environment. You will collaborate with global, regional, local IT teams, vendors and end users to deliver effective IT solutions and operational continuity. The role covers vendor management, systems support, IT deployment, project assistance, user training, and policy compliance.
The IT Specialist is responsible for supporting and managing IT operations, network resources, systems, and end-user support to ensure a reliable and efficient digital environment for the organization. The role involves vendor coordination, technical troubleshooting, IT implementation and project support, as well as ensuring compliance with DSV Group policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct.
The IT Specialist will work closely with global, regional, and local IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and end users to provide effective IT solutions and support business operations.
Manage relationships with IT and telecommunications vendors and suppliers.
Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of IT equipment, telecommunications services, and network connections.
Maintain an accurate inventory of computer equipment, software, and IT assets.
Ensure software and IT equipment are properly licensed and compliant with company requirements.
Provide support for global, regional, and local IT systems, including business-specific applications.
Provide technical support and troubleshoot IT issues through the Incident Management system.
Administer user accounts, mobile devices, email configurations, IP phones, and other IT-related services.
Provide timely and effective technical support to end users to minimize business disruption.
Implement network and IT solutions in accordance with directions, standards, and strategies provided by IT management or team leads.
Participate in IT deployment and implementation activities, ensuring configurations comply with established guidelines and requirements.
Test and validate IT solutions to ensure they meet operational and functional requirements.
Provide regular updates to managers or team leads on implementation progress, challenges, and outcomes.
Ensure IT systems maintain the required quality, security, and performance standards following implementation.
Assist with the coordination and execution of IT projects to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
Support project leads and teams by providing the necessary IT resources, technical support, and solutions.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure appropriate IT alignment.
Assist in tracking project milestones, maintaining project documentation, and facilitating communication among stakeholders.
Provide timely updates to management on project progress, potential risks, and challenges.
Assess users' IT training needs and provide relevant training and guidance.
Provide day-to-day IT support to end users to ensure smooth business operations.
Promote the effective and proper use of IT systems, applications, and equipment.
Ensure compliance with corporate, regional, and local IT policies, procedures, standards, and applicable legal requirements.
Perform periodic IT reporting, budgeting, resource planning, and other administrative activities as required.
Strictly adhere to the DSV Group Code of Conduct and applicable IT security and compliance requirements.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on IT-related matters.
Facilitate meetings and deliver presentations or updates to management and relevant stakeholders.
Maintain effective communication with global, regional, local IT teams, vendors, and business users.
Perform other IT-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Technical or Functional Line Manager.
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in IT Support or a related IT role.
Good knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and Windows operating systems.
Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting and IT infrastructure would be an advantage.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Service-oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
