Tentacle Tech is seeking an experienced IT Security Engineer to drive a high-impact cybersecurity project in the financial sector. You will lead end-to-end deployment of security technologies and work with project managers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure secure and smooth operations.

The role requires hands-on experience with Windows/AD, Unix-based systems, and endpoint security tools, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of IT security experience in a large-scale environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows/Active Directory and Unix-based systems.
• Experience deploying and supporting endpoint security tools.
• Solid understanding of security best practices, TCP/IP, OSI model.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT/IS or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to work independently under pressure.
• Security certifications are a plus (CISSP, CISM, CEH).

Responsibilities

• Support IT Security project deployment, including requirements gathering, UAT, and rollout.
• Assist the Project Manager in coordinating deployment activities and milestones.
• Liaise with vendors to resolve configuration challenges and enforce expectations.
• Define and document policies and procedures; handover to Security Operations team.
• Monitor compliance with information security policies; escalate issues as needed.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for security devices, systems, and tools.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled IT Security Engineer to join a high-impact cybersecurity project within the financial sector. In this role, you will play a key part in the end-to-end deployment of security technologies, working closely with project managers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure security solutions are implemented effectively and operationalized smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Support IT Security project deployment, including technical requirement gathering, UAT, and technology rollout
• Assist the Project Manager in coordinating deployment activities and ensuring project milestones are met
• Liaise with vendors to resolve technical configuration challenges and ensure enforcement expectations are fully achieved
• Define and document policies and procedures related to the project, and manage operations handover to the Security Operations team
• Monitor compliance with information security policies and procedures, escalating issues to the appropriate department manager
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for information security devices, systems, and tools

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a large-scale IT environment with a focus on Information Security and project deployment
• Good knowledge of Windows/Active Directory and/or Unix-based systems
• Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience deploying and supporting endpoint security tools
• Solid understanding of security best practices, TCP/IP protocol, and the OSI Seven Layer Model
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently under pressure
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CEH are a plus
