Job summary

Tentacle Tech is seeking a Software Developer/Programmer to support critical banking systems in an onsite role. You will apply strong programming and Linux skills to develop, troubleshoot, and maintain applications while collaborating with QA teams and vendors.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of software development experience, solid C++ and Java proficiency, and familiarity with Git. Exposure to Cobol and banking products is a plus. A collaborative, growth-oriented team awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related discipline.
• 1–2 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in C++ and Java; COBOL knowledge is a plus.
• Strong Linux CLI skills and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control tools.
• Exposure to ACI product suites or Cards/Banking systems is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and time management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using C++, Java, and COBOL.
• Write and maintain shell scripts for builds, deployments, and automation.
• Support infrastructure needs including networks, servers, and storage dependencies.
• Collaborate with QA testers to debug, tune performance, and ensure security and reliability.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting for system issues and program errors, including log analysis and tracing.
• Review vendor-delivered code to ensure compliance with best practices.
• Maintain clear development documentation, configurations, and troubleshooting records.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer/Programmer to support and enhance critical systems within the banking and financial services sector. In this onsite role, you will apply your strong programming and Linux skills to develop, troubleshoot, and maintain applications, while collaborating closely with QA teams and vendors to ensure high-quality, secure, and reliable solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain applications using C++, Java, and NTT COBOL
• Write and maintain shell scripts for builds, deployments, and automation
• Support infrastructure needs including networks, servers, and storage dependencies
• Collaborate with QA testers to debug, tune performance, and ensure system security and reliability
• Perform first-level troubleshooting for system issues and program errors, including log analysis and tracing
• Review vendor-delivered code to ensure compliance with best practices
• Maintain clear development documentation, configurations, and troubleshooting records

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
• 1-2 years of experience in software development, including some exposure to code review
• Proficiency in C++ and Java; knowledge of NTT COBOL is an added advantage
• Strong Linux command-line skills, including process management, shell scripting, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Git or other version control tools
• Exposure to ACI product suites (Base24-eps, UPF, OCM24) or Cards and Consumer Banking systems is a plus
• Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and effective time management
