Job summary

Gamuda Group is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager in Malaysia to lead strategic technology initiatives from concept to delivery.

You will bridge business objectives with technical execution, overseeing scope, budgets, and timelines while coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure value and on-time delivery.

Applicants should have 5+ years of PM experience, a degree in IT/CS, and proficiency with MS Project, Jira and Asana. PMP or PRINCE2 is a plus.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and strategic IT Project Manager to drive high-impact technology initiatives from conception to delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end IT project delivery, defining scope, goals, schedules, and resource plans aligned with business strategy.
• Establish and execute project management plans using best practices, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
• Track project performance against key milestones and adjust schedules proactively to handle unexpected variables.
• Develop and manage project budgets; forecast expenditure, track variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Define required skill sets, assemble high-performing project teams, and oversee resource performance and development.
• Handle vendor evaluations and contract management to ensure optimal third-party service delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

Serve as the primary liaison between business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and end-users.

Maintain clear communication channels, providing tailored status reports, trend analyses, and risk updates to executive leadership.

Build and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including risk registers, issue logs, and cost plans.

Risk & Quality Oversight

Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to ensure seamless execution.

Lead change management processes to implement scope updates efficiently without disrupting momentum.

Key Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of hands‑on project management experience leading IT projects.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Technical Proficiency: High level of expertise in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana) and core project artifacts (stakeholder registers, risk matrix, cost plans).
• Core Competencies: Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, strategic problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Big Plus)

• Project Management Certification (PMP or PRINCE2).
• Background in Business Analytics, Change Management, or Enterprise Architecture.
