Job summary

GP Energy Tech in Malaysia seeks an IT Assistant to support local IT operations and ensure smooth service delivery under local management, while aligning with Group IT standards.

You will handle first/second level IT support, maintain equipment, assist with security, and help administer IT documentation and assets in a manufacturing environment. Strong teamwork and communication are essential, with a proactive attitude to learn new technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related discipline
• 2-4 years IT support experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Basic understanding of IT systems, networking, and security concepts
• Good communication, coordination skills, and stakeholder management
• Demonstrates ability to follow procedures and work collaboratively with teams
• Service-oriented with commitment to delivering excellent user support
• Team collaboration with local and Group IT teams
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and ability to escalate when needed
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing priorities
• Proficient in English reading/writing; bilingual capability is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level and second-level IT support for users, including hardware, software, and network issues
• Assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment (desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices)
• Support implementation of IT initiatives directed by local management and HQ/Group IT
• Follow IT standards, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency with Group practices
• Assist in IT documentation, asset inventory, and system records; support audit-related activities
