Job summary

WAKOMAS Chemical Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an IT Manager to lead IT infrastructure, cybersecurity and end-user support, oversee the NetSuite ERP, and drive automation and digital transformation across the business.

You will collaborate with management and departments, manage budgets and vendors, implement data analytics, and ensure governance and compliance across IT systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, IS, data science, software engineering or related field
• 6–8 years of IT experience with 2–3 years in supervisory/leadership role
• Experience managing corporate IT infrastructure and end-user systems
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred
• Knowledge of networking, endpoint security and cybersecurity practices
• Experience managing external IT vendors and technology projects

Responsibilities

• Manage the company’s IT infrastructure, networks, systems, hardware, software and cybersecurity.
• Administer Microsoft 365 including users, licences, permissions, email, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Manage employee IT onboarding/offboarding, system access, devices and IT asset allocation.
• Oversee cybersecurity controls, access management, data protection, backup, recovery and incident management.
• Manage IT assets, software licences, subscriptions, vendors and annual IT budget.
• Provide and coordinate IT helpdesk support and resolve recurring issues.
• Act as the internal NetSuite ERP system owner and admin.
• Collaborate with business departments to improve processes via data analytics and automation.
• Identify and implement AI and emerging tech to boost productivity and reporting.
• Manage IT vendors and projects, including implementation, UAT, training and post-implementation support.
• Develop and maintain IT policies, SOPs, governance controls for audit/compliance

About the Role

The IT Manager is responsible for the overall management, reliability, security and continuous improvement of Wakomas Chemical Sdn Bhd’s information technology environment.

The position combines three core areas of responsibility:

IT Infrastructure, Cybersecurity & End-User Support

ERP / NetSuite Systems Management

Automation, AI & Digital Transformation

The IT Manager shall act as the Company’s internal technology owner and primary liaison between Management, business departments, employees, external IT service providers, software vendors and system implementation partners.

The role is expected to go beyond day-to-day IT support by identifying and implementing technology, system, automation and data solutions that improve operational efficiency, management visibility, cybersecurity, internal controls and business decision-making.

What you'll be doing

1. Manage the Company’s overall IT infrastructure, networks, systems, hardware, software and cybersecurity to ensure reliable and secure operations.

2. Administer Microsoft 365, including user accounts, licences, permissions, email, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.

3. Manage employee IT onboarding and offboarding, system access, devices and IT asset allocation.

4. Oversee cybersecurity controls, access management, data protection, backup, recovery and security incident management.

5. Manage IT assets, software licences, subscriptions, vendors and annual IT budget.

6. Provide and coordinate IT helpdesk support and resolve recurring technical issues.

7. Act as the internal system owner and administrator for Oracle NetSuite ERP, including user access, workflows, system support, enhancements, reporting and integrations.

8. Work with business departments to improve processes through data analytics, dashboards, automation and digitalisation.

9. Identify and implement practical AI and emerging technology solutions to improve productivity, reporting and operational efficiency.

10. Manage IT vendors and technology projects, including implementation, UAT, user training and post-implementation support.

11. Develop and maintain IT policies, SOPs, system documentation and governance controls to support audit and compliance requirements.

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.

2. Minimum 6–8 years of relevant IT experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory, managerial or technology project leadership capacity.

3. Demonstrated experience managing corporate IT infrastructure and end-user systems.

4. Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.

5. Experience with ERP systems; Oracle NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.

6. Working knowledge of networking, endpoint security, firewalls, access controls and cybersecurity practices.

7. Experience managing external IT vendors and technology projects.

8. Strong understanding of data management, reporting and business intelligence concepts.
