Private Advertiser in Sabah, Malaysia seeks an IT Manager to design, implement, and oversee the company’s IT infrastructure and strategic roadmap. You will lead a team, manage budgets, and coordinate with vendors to deliver secure, compliant systems.

The role requires a Diploma in IT or CS with 3+ years in IT management, strong networking, cloud, and cybersecurity knowledge, and proven leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and oversee company‑wide IT infrastructure to meet current and future management needs.
• Develop and maintain IT policies, standards, and disaster recovery plans.
• Prepare and manage the IT budget, including procurement, licensing, and service contracts.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, cloud services, and system upgrades.
• Conduct system backups and verify restore procedures regularly.
• Apply security patches, firmware updates, and antivirus definitions across all systems.
• Review system logs, perform basic security audits, and coordinate vulnerability assessments.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., PDPA, GDPR) and industry standards.
• Monitor server, network, and cloud service performance; optimize resources and resolve bottlenecks.
• Proactively review system health metrics and capacity planning reports.
• Implement automation for routine monitoring and alerting.
• Lead IT projects such as deploying new software, upgrading hardware, migrating systems, or rolling out network infrastructure.
• Coordinate with external vendors, consultants, and service providers.
• Create project timelines, assign internal resources, and report progress to management.
• Provide escalated technical support for staff IT needs (hardware, software, connectivity).
• Resolve user issues escalated from junior IT staff or helpdesk.
• Conduct routine maintenance on IT equipment (workstations, printers, servers, network devices).
• Be on standby for outstations work, providing on‑site or remote technical assistance to branch offices, warehouses, or project sites.
• Supervise, mentor, and schedule IT officers or support staff.
• Maintain and update all IT documentation (network diagrams, asset inventory, SOPs, disaster recovery plans).
• Conduct internal training for staff on IT security and best practices.
• Manage relationships with ISPs, software vendors, cloud providers, and maintenance contractors.
• Track IT assets lifecycle (procurement, deployment, maintenance, disposal).
• Translate business goals into IT roadmaps and multi‑year plans.
• Prepare annual IT budget, approve purchases, and optimize IT related spending.
• Draft and enforce IT usage, security, BYOD, and remote access policies.
• Conduct business impact analysis and lead disaster recovery drills.
• Hire, train, evaluate IT staff; delegate tasks and ensure coverage.
• Negotiate SLAs, contracts, and pricing with external providers.
• Present IT performance metrics, project status, and risk assessments to C‑level management.
