Job summary

PERSOL Workforce Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a senior IT leader to oversee all IT operations, lead a small team, and balance strategic planning with day-to-day support. The role covers hardware, software, networks, and cybersecurity, with emphasis on EDA tool optimization and design workflow improvements.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in IT, including management, strong security expertise, and experience in high-tech engineering environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years IT experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in high-tech engineering environments; EDA tools a plus.
• Strong knowledge of information security, risk management, and data privacy.
• Solid networking knowledge and network security fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with cloud platforms and scripting languages; backup and disaster recovery experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of IT operations, including hardware, software, network management, cybersecurity, and software/firmware development. This role will lead a small IT team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day IT functions. The ideal candidate is a proactive and adaptable professional who can balance strategic planning with operational IT support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, storage solutions, laptops, CCTV systems, printers, monitors, peripherals, networks, and cloud-based systems.
• Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of hardware and software.
• Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of IT systems.
• Evaluate and implement EDA CAD tools and technologies to enhance design processes.
• Maintain and optimize EDA design tools for efficient operation.
• Collaborate with design teams to establish and improve design flows, methodologies, and best practices.
• Lead, mentor, and support a small IT team.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Experience managing IT environments within high-tech engineering organizations; experience with EDA tools is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of information security, risk management, and data privacy principles.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and network security.
• Proficiency in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with cloud platforms and scripting languages.Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
