About the role
Assist the IT superior in daily IT operations, digitalisation projects, and smart-manufacturing initiatives. Provide hands‑on technical support while escalating approvals, architecture decisions, major changes, and unresolved risks to the responsible superior.
Key responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & User Support
- Support installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computers, printers, mobile devices, network points, Wi‑Fi, servers, and NAS systems.
- Assist with user accounts, email, access permissions, onboarding, asset records, backups, antivirus, patching, and routine health checks.
- Record incidents, actions taken, downtime, recurring faults, and escalation status.
ERP, MES, WMS & Data Support
- Support users and assist in testing, data checking, master‑data preparation, issue logging, and vendor follow‑up for ERP, MES, WMS, and reporting systems.
- Prepare basic reports, dashboards, data extracts, and system documentation under supervision.
- Check data accuracy and promptly report missing, abnormal, duplicated, or inconsistent records.
AI & Intelligent Automation Support
- Assist in identifying suitable AI use cases for production, quality, planning, maintenance, store, and administrative processes.
- Support AI assistants, workflow automations, document extraction, forecasting, anomaly detection, and knowledge‑search solutions.
- Prepare datasets, test prompts and models, validate outputs against approved source data, document limitations, and monitor performance after deployment.
- Protect confidential information and do not allow unverified AI output to trigger business or machine actions without the required human approval.
IoT & Shop‑Floor Connectivity
- Assist with installation, labelling, connection, testing, and monitoring of sensors, gateways, edge devices, counters, energy meters, and machine‑data collection points.
- Support communication between machinery, PLC/HMI, MES, databases, and dashboards using approved industrial protocols and interfaces.
- Monitor device status and data quality; investigate basic connectivity faults and elevate control‑system or electrical issues to Engineering, Maintenance, or the equipment supplier.
Machine Vision & Inspection Technology
- Support camera, lighting, lens, trigger, image‑capture, and inspection‑system setup for approved quality, counting, identification, dimension, surface‑defect, and safety applications.
- Collect and label images, conduct controlled trials, record false accepts and false rejects, and assist with accuracy validation before release.
- Perform routine cleaning, focus and lighting checks, backup settings, and first‑level troubleshooting; elevate calibration or system‑design changes.
Machinery Technology & Integration Support
- Work with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and vendors to understand machine processes, operating signals, downtime causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with approved testing of machine monitoring, condition monitoring, predictive‑maintenance, traceability, OEE, alarm, and digital work‑instruction solutions.
- Do not alter PLC logic, safety circuits, interlocks, machine parameters, or electrical systems without written authorisation and supervision by the responsible technical owner.
- Comply with machine‑safety, permit‑to‑work, and lockout/tagout requirements; never bypass a safety device or test on live machinery outside an approved procedure.
Documentation, Vendor & Project Support
- Maintain inventories, network and device records, system configurations, user guides, SOPs, test results, change logs, and project action lists.
- Assist with quotations, vendor visits, installation coordination, user training, acceptance testing, and handover documentation.
- Provide progress updates, highlight delays and risks early, and complete other related duties assigned by the immediate superior.
Continuous Learning
- Keep up to date with AI, IoT, machine vision, cybersecurity, industrial automation, and machinery technologies relevant to the company's operations.
