Job summary

Erudite Innovation in Malaysia is seeking a database tester to validate core banking backend and data integrity. You will design and execute test plans, verify stored procedures, and ensure regulatory data security compliance.

Responsibilities include SIT, UAT and regression testing, data migration validation, SQL validation of transactions, and collaboration with Developers, DBAs and Business Analysts to triage defects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field.
• 3-8+ years of experience in Database Testing / Backend Testing / Data Testing.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 or similar databases.
• Good understanding of relational database concepts.
• Experience testing stored procedures, functions, triggers and database jobs.
• Strong experience with data validation and reconciliation.
• Experience with SIT, UAT and regression testing.
• Banking / financial-services experience is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of sensitive financial data and data security.

Responsible for validating database functionality, data integrity, data accuracy, stored procedures, queries and backend transactions supporting banking applications. The role ensures that data is correctly stored, processed, transformed and retrieved across banking systems while meeting business, security, performance and regulatory requirements.

• Perform defect retesting and validate fixes.
• Support production deployment and post-deployment database validation.
• Verify that sensitive banking data is appropriately protected and accessed.
• Ensure database testing complies with the bank's security, audit, risk and regulatory requirements.
