Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an IT/Automation Manager to lead the deployment of manufacturing IT and automation projects from requirements to rollout. You will oversee installation, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of systems to support production goals.

You will also supervise the RMS integration, mentor the IT/Automation team, and collaborate with Engineering, Production, and external vendors to ensure timely delivery and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/related field.
• 5+ years in IT support, system integration, or automation in manufacturing.
• At least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux environments; programming in C#, Java, or VB.NET; SQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT and automation projects from requirements to deployment.
• Manage installation, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems in manufacturing.
• Oversee machine integration and RMS communication between machines and IT systems.
• Supervise system enhancements: testing and deployment of new features.

• Lead the implementation of IT and automation projects, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Manage the installation, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of software and hardware systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Oversee machine integration and Recipe Management System (RMS), ensuring reliable communication between machines and IT systems.
• Supervise system enhancement initiatives, including development, testing (functional, integration, regression), and deployment of new features.
• Provide guidance and support to the IT/Automation team, and act as the escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and user manuals to ensure knowledge transfer and audit compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Production, IT) and external vendors to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and ensure timely project delivery.
• Monitor system performance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and recommend technology upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT support, system integration, or automation within a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of IT systems, software development, and automation technologies, including Windows/Linux environments.
• Experience with programming languages (C#, Java, VB.NET) and database management (SQL, Oracle, MySQL).
• Proven ability to manage teams, projects, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong problem-solving, decision‑making, and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin is preferred and an added advantage
