Job summary

Nolato in Malaysia seeks an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement manufacturing automation solutions on site. The role covers PLC programming, robotics, vision systems, and continuous improvement within a plastics/dispensing environment.

Required are a relevant bachelor's degree and at least 3 years in industrial automation or manufacturing engineering. Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and ISO standards is preferred, with strong problem-solving skills expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in plastic injection molding, silicone dispensing, die-cut converting, assembly automation, or related environment preferred.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and electrical control systems.
• Familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485 and IATF 16949 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement manufacturing automation solutions.
• Lead automation projects from concept through production handover.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and HMI interfaces.
• Program and optimize industrial robots and gantry systems.
• Maintain machine vision inspection systems.
• Support automation for pick-and-place, assembly, inspection, packaging, and dispensing applications.
• Integrate molding, dispensing, converting machines, conveyors, vision systems, barcode readers, and other peripheral equipment.
• Improve OEE, cycle time, yield, and productivity via continuous improvement.

The candidate will be responsible for machine automation, PLC programming, robotics integration, vision inspection systems, process improvement, equipment troubleshooting, and implementation of Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement manufacturing automation solutions.
• Lead automation projects from concept, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and production handover.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and HMI interfaces.
• Program and optimize industrial robots and gantry systems.
• Maintain machine vision inspection systems.
• Support automation for pick-and-place, assembly, inspection, packaging, and dispensing applications.
• Integrate molding machines, dispensing systems, converting machines, conveyors, vision systems, barcode readers, leak testers, and peripheral equipment.
• Improve OEE, cycle time, yield, and productivity through automation and continuous improvement projects.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen activities.
• Troubleshoot automation-related equipment failures and production issues.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation, machine controls, or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in plastic injection molding, silicone dispensing, die-cut converting, assembly automation, or related manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Pneumatic and electrical control systems.
• AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent electrical design software.
• Self-motivated and self-discipline.
• Knowledge in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485 and IATF 16949.
