Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Automation Leader to drive the automation roadmap and oversee projects from design to handover. You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, coordinate with Production, QA, IT, Maintenance, and HR, and ensure safety and compliance in every initiative.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in automation/engineering, strong PLC programming skills (Siemens/Omron/Mitsubishi/Allen-Bradley), and proven ability to deliver multi-site projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related fields).
• 5+ years in automation, engineering, system integration, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience leading automation projects or managing a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an automation roadmap to support growth and goals.

2. System & Machine Management

• Install, program, and maintain automation equipment such as PLCs, robotics, conveyors, sensors, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot technical issues to minimize downtime and ensure operational reliability.

3. Project Management

• Plan project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Production, QA, IT, Maintenance, HR).
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and aligned with safety and compliance standards.
• Conduct regular assessments to improve automation performance and efficiency.
• Implement best practices and ensure system documentation is up to date.
• Lead and guide a team of automation technicians and engineers.
• Provide training to production staff on new automated processes.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related fields).

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley).
• Familiarity with robotics, SCADA systems, HMI, sensors, and industrial networking.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of automated machines.

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automation, engineering, system integration, or manufacturing operations.
